NOVOLIN GE NPH Insulin
Novolin N insulin is used to control high blood sugar of pets with diabetes mellitus. It is structurally identical to insulin that is created in the pancreas. It works the same as Humulin N, except Novolin N has a shorter acting time of 12 hours instead of 24. Novolin N is an intermediate-acting insulin and starts working 1 1/2 hours after injection. Each vial contains 100 units/mL of insulin. It's used with U-100 syringes Unopened vials of Novolin N should be stored in the refrigerator and can be used until the expiration date on the box of insulin. Once the vial of Novolin N is opened it may be kept at room temperature (below 77 °) or in the refrigerator. In either case, the opened vial should be discarded after 42 days. How it works: Insulin is a hormone that is naturally produced by the pancreas. When the body does not produce enough insulin, or when the insulin produced is not effective, it results in diabetes mellitus. Novolin N controls high blood sugar in dogs with diabetes.
